Monday’s Moves: 5

Hard to believe how long it’s been since I shared a Monday’s Moves post. Don’t worry though, I’ll try post them more frequently!

The gym I was teaching at unfortunately closed mid-Covid. Last year I was introduced to a new opportunity to teach classes and offer personal training, so I jumped at it! Locals, check out Trio Wellspace!

I’m back to teaching and couldn’t be happier! I love creating workouts and working with clients to reach their fitness goals.

Anyway, enough of that! Here’s a fun workout for you! This workout uses just your bodyweight, no equipment needed. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Total Body Wellness: Reverse Pyramid Workout

Monday’s Moves: 4

One of my favorite workouts is the reverse pyramid. My class seems to enjoy this style workout too as we challenge ourselves to do as many rounds as possible.

To do this workout you’ll start with 20 reps of each exercise, except for the plank which you’ll hold for 1 minute. Complete your first round of 20, then do 19, 18, 17 etc. In a 45 minute class, we usually get down to about 10. Rest every 3 rounds or so.

You can do as many rounds as you have time for. Have fun!

It’s Monday again.  The Monday after a long holiday weekend.  If you’re like some of the people in my class tonight, that probably means that if you’re working out today, it’s the first workout you’ve had in a few days.  But forget the past and focus on the present–you’re working out!  On a Monday.  That in itself deserves an award! 😉

So without further ado, here is a fun workout for you today.  Most of the workouts I post on Mondays are ones that I’ve done recently with my class.  Typically we do bodyweight moves, but every once in a while, I mix it up and throw in some weights or resistance bands.  Here’s a workout we did a few weeks ago.  It’s a good one (obviously!), so have fun with it!

If you don’t have a set of resistance bands, I suggest the ones with handles like these.

Time for another workout post!  I don’t know about you, but it’s hard to believe it’s Monday again, and that we are 1.5 weeks from Thanksgiving.  I don’t know where 2018 has gone! (Such a cliche, but I don’t care!)

Anyway, here’s today’s workout.  I had my class do 45 seconds per move, and repeat each set 3 times.  By the end we were hot, sweaty, and full of endorphins.

It looks like it’s time for me to make some more videos based off of some of these moves!  If you aren’t familiar with some of them, leave a comment and I’ll make sure I get those videos up soon.

Monday’s Moves: 1

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned in here yet, but I’ve been working at a local gym a couple days a week for the past year.  When it was time for my PT certification to renew, I told myself I had to actually use it, beyond friends and family.  I wasn’t really looking for another job, but this has been a great way to get involved in the fitness world.  I offer personal training and I teach a class, Cardio Sculpt.  I’ve had a lot of fun coming up with new and challenging workouts for my class each week.  It’s fun to see how we push each other to do our best, and I enjoy the feedback I hear from my class members–it pushes me to be a better trainer!  I thought it might be fun to start a new series here on the blog and share some of those workouts with you.

I typically do 3 rounds of each circuit, take a short break, and then move on to the next circuit.  Each workout should take about 45 minutes to complete.

Here is tonight’s workout:

If you’re unfamiliar with any of the moves, I have most of them on the videos page of my blog.  If you do this workout, please let me know what you think!
